These are the winners of the Caricia Macramé Challenge

Mother and daughter, creators of the wonders you'll find at @agora.handmade.deco, have been chosen as the winners of the Caricia Macramé Challenge, the competition in which we sought out expert weavers in this ancient technique. After presenting a spectacular tapestry woven with Caricia Guata, Ana and Maica reached the final stage and captivated the public with their creation, becoming the winners by number of votes from Lola y Lana's followers.

Today we are going to get to know them better and find out where their passion for macramé comes from. Maica, Ana's mother, always liked to make things by hand and, as a surprise for Mother's Day, Ana took her to a well-known festival in Barcelona. Between concerts and workshops, they decided to go to a Masterclass which led them to take the step of starting with macramé. That's where it all began, they started to develop their passion. Their source of inspiration is double, as both have different tastes and passions and feed off each other when creating. Their first goal was to create all the decoration for a close friend's wedding: macramé altar, table decorations... most original! They are proof that things, done with taste and passion, succeed. The winning tapestry was the first one Ana made in two colors, but her mother's help was fundamental to finish it. Almost a week of work went into their piece, which underwent many modifications along the way to achieve the perfect result. Both Ana and Maica are very grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in the Caricia Macramé Challenge, trying the brand's different materials, and they are very happy to have been the winners! They loved working with Caricia Guata because it is a very soft and malleable material. They were very surprised by its elasticity; something perfect for practicing with macramé and getting such a beautiful result. We look forward to seeing you in the next challenge!
