Autumn crochet bag
A wool bag is an original and unique accessory. Today we present a design that will give you a more casual look, very practical and with a colorful touch that will enhance whatever you wear. We have knitted it with Caricia Classic yarn and it is very easy to make.
YOU WILL NEED:
For measurements: 31 cm long x 27 cm wide.
- Caricia Classic Yarn (1 ball of each color):
023 Bottle Green 076 Orange 072 Sky Blue 022 Green 063 Natural 014 Navy Blue 077 Carmine 078 Emerald Green 067 Aquamarine Green
- Crochet hook Nº 3 mm
- Tapestry needle
- Lining fabric
- Hard cardboard
- 1 wooden toggle button
STITCHES USED
- Single crochet (see tutorial single crochet)
- Chain stitch: ch. st.
- Striped stitch: Work 5 rows in sc. of each color.
HOW TO MAKE THE BAG?
Base Oval
With Caricia Classic yarn, chain 35 and work single crochet along one side until the end of the row. In the 35th chain, increase 3 sc. in the same chain stitch to continue working along the other side. Continue working in this manner, in a circle, (always increasing 3 st. in the last chain), until the base is finished, which is made with three colors.
Bag body
Continue working in striped stitch without increases until you get a length of 31 cm.
Handle
Chain 8 and single crochet until you get a length of 100 cm.
Flap closure
Work the same way as the bag base but starting with 26 chains, using three colors. In the fourth row, make a 5-stitch buttonhole at one end for the button (see photo).
ASSEMBLY AND FINISHING
Sew the handle to both ends of the bag. Sew the flap to the center of the bag. Sew the toggle button to the bag with yarn. Cut an oval of hard cardboard the size of the base oval and cover with fabric. Insert it into the bottom of the bag.
