HOW TO MAKE THE OWL BASKET?

ABBREVIATIONS

- Ch: chain - Sl st: slip stitch - MR: magic ring - Sc: single crochet - Inc: increase - Blsc: back loop single crochet - Rnd: round - Rows: rows

PATTERN

*The base of the basket will be made in normal single crochet, while the side will be made in back loop single crochet (inserting the hook into the V formed by the single crochet of the previous round, instead of into the two top loops of that stitch). *The entire pattern is worked in the round, closing each round with a slip stitch and starting the next with 1 chain (which will count as the 1st single crochet of the round).

BASE

Work with color 109. Rnd 1: MR of 6sc. Rnd 2: 6inc. (12sc). Rnd 3:*1sc-1inc.*x6 (24sc). Rnd 4:*2sc-1inc.*x6 (30sc). Rnd 5:*3sc-1inc.*x6 (36sc). Rnd 6:*4sc-1inc.*x6 (42sc). Rnd 7:*5sc-1inc.*x6 (48sc). Close with sl st.

SIDE

Continue with color 109. Rnd 8: 48sc taking only the back loop of the stitches of the base. Rnd 9-10: 48blsc. Change to color 107. Rnd 11–16: 48 blsc. Rnd 17: 48sl st.

EYES

(X2). Work with Caricia Cinta. Rnd 1: MR of 6sc. Rnd 2: 6inc. (12sc).

BEAK

Work with color 104. We will work in rows, chaining and turning the work at the end of each row. Row 1: 4ch, 3sc. Row 2: skip 1sc, 2sc. Row 3: skip 1sc, 1sc. Close with sl st.

EARS

Cut 2 strips of 15cm. of each color (total 6), and insert three of them into each of the sides. Cut two additional strips of color 104 and tie them together with the previous ones.
