Mandala Kimono Shawl

Today, we are going to make this mandala kimono shawl designed by Buba Hadnmade using the different shades of Caricia Recicotón, one of our varieties from the Eco Life collection. Its softness will surprise you! Follow the pattern and knit a perfect garment for this season.

YOU WILL NEED:

Material: 5 skeins of Caricia Recicotón Colors: 001 (3 skeins), 007 (1 skein), 008 (1 skein) Crochet hook: No. 4 Tape measure Scissors You can purchase the materials through the links to our online store listed above.


HOW TO MAKE THIS MANDALA KIMONO:

To give you a brief overview, we will start by making the back, and then the sleeves. Once we close the sleeve ends, we will crochet the inner frame of the kimono. Follow these figure and chart instructions:

PATTERN

Back Start

1- gray color Magic ring of 14 dc. 2- gray color. V all around (28st) 3- pink color. V every 2 st (40st) 4- gray color. Sc, 3 ch close with sc. leave 1 st space in between close with sc. 5- green color. 3 dc over the chain, 1 ch. * repeat all around. 6-gray color. here we start with front post sts, they will be attached to the single crochets of row 4. Start by making front post sts, then 2 dc. gray color, SEE CHART. 7- pink color. dc, V every 2 st. * repeat all around. 8- gray color. 2 dc, fp st attached to the previous one from row 6, (attaching in pairs) SEE CHART. 9- pink color. make 2 single crochets (each in its st.), 4 ch. 2 st. space, close with 2 sc *repeat all along the row. At this point you should have 20 chain spaces, now we need to divide them into 4 equal parts to make the granny corners. , place a stitch marker. 10- gray color. we start the granny. 4 dc. over the ch, 1 dc between the sc of row 9. SEE CHART, when reaching the stitch marker we open the granny corner = 2dc, 2ch, 1tr, 2 ch, 2dc. 11- green color. we make dc all along this row. until the granny corner = 2dc, 3ch, 2dc. SEE CHART. 12- gray color. 4 dc, fp st attaching the dc. that is between the 2 sc of row 9. * repeat all along the row making the granny corners. SEE PHOTO. *Repeat the granny sequence with the fp sts in gray color, (total of 5 rows). Rows 13-14 15-16-17 we make these 3 more rows in gray color in dc, without the fp st.

Sleeves

Repeat the last sts of the granny. we knit along the sides for a total of 16 rows. Close the sleeves (see FIGURE). Once the sleeve ends are closed, we start knitting the inner frame of the kimono. To make it a bit more fitted, you can make a decrease at each stitch I mark in red (see FIGURE). At the sleeve opening, make 6 dc.
