Snowflake
Have you decorated your Christmas tree yet? Crochet several snowflakes by following the steps we describe in this post and give it a wintry touch. It will be beautiful!
YOU WILL NEED:

- Caricia Perlé Cotton, No. 5, white, 1 ball.
- Nickel crochet hook No. 1.6 mm.
- Sewing needle.
- Colored pins.
- Starch.
- Metallic thread.
ABBREVIATIONS-STITCHES USED
- Chain stitch: ch. (see tutorial chain stitch)
- Slip stitch: sl st.
- Single crochet: sc. (see tutorial single crochet)
- Half double crochet: hdc. (see tutorial half double crochet)
- Double crochet: dc. (see tutorial double crochet)
- Round: rnd.
- Stitch: st.
HOW TO MAKE THE SNOWFLAKE?
Begin the snowflake by making a magic ring of 20 sc, which is the 1st rnd. Close with 1 sl st.

And continue working as follows:
2nd rnd: * 12 ch., skip 1 ch., and work 2 sl st. *, repeat from * to * until the end of the rnd.
We have formed 5 petals. Next, insert the hook into each petal, working as follows:
3rd rnd: * 2 sc., 2 hdc., 4 dc., 9 ch. in the air, 1 sl st. in the 1st ch. closing the circle, 4 dc., 2 hdc., 2 sc. close with 1 sl st. *
Repeat until the round is complete.
Continue working around each petal:
4th rnd: * 4 sl st. 7 ch. in the air, 1 sl st., closing the circle, 3 sl st. Inserting the hook inside the oval, make 6 sc., 9 ch. in the air, 1 sl st. closing the circle, 6 sc. 1 sl st. *, repeat from * to *, until the round is complete.
Weave in the remaining yarn tail.
Starching and Finishing
To make the snowflakes rigid and prevent them from losing their shape, you need to starch them.

To do this, make a homogeneous mixture of starch with a little water. Dip the snowflake into the bowl with the mixture, wait a few minutes, then wring it out well and, on a padded surface, preferably cork (so that it detaches easily), spread the snowflake and stretch it with pins until it takes the desired shape.
Once completely dry, remove the pins.
Loop
Next, with a needle and gold metallic thread, make a loop so you can hang it on the tree.
FINISHED RESULT

Come on, give it a try! You still have time to include this ornament on your tree. It's very easy to make and the result is truly worthwhile.
