Cuello Jacquard

Jacquard neck

Albita de Plata never ceases to amaze us, this time with a very warm and essential project for the season, the Jacquard Neck Warmer. This garment, in addition to being perfect for winter, is a TOP accessory to protect you on cold mornings.

It is knitted with Caricia Dibujos Jacquard, our 100% Premium Acrylic which, in addition to providing softness, has a very special color range for the season. Do you want to know the pattern? Let's go!

YOU WILL NEED

1 skein of Caricia Dibujos Jacquard color 003 (75gr), you can purchase the skein through the link to our online store.

6mm circular needles, 55cm long cable, buttons (4), tapestry needle and scissors.

HOW TO KNIT THE JACQUARD NECK WARMER?

STITCHES USED:

Stockinette stitch: knit stitch and purl stitch

MEASUREMENTS AND ADAPTATION:

My neck warmer measures 44cm high by 80cm wide, meaning my cast-on stitches at the beginning measure 44cm, as we are going to knit it in rows and not in the round. Then we will join the ends with buttons. I have knitted a total of 140 rows, which measure 80cm, just enough to go around my neck completely.

If you want it wider, you will have to cast on more stitches at the beginning, and if you want it to go around your neck more times, you will have to knit more rows.

These measurements are for knitting with this fiber and these specific needles; if you want to change material, you should calculate your measurements with a swatch. However, even with the same materials, it is highly recommended to make a gauge swatch.

PATTERN:

1.     Cast on stitches

Cast on 64 stitches using the long-tail method or your favorite method. Do not join the end of the cast-on to the beginning, as we will not be knitting in the round.

2.     Main piece

We will knit the entire piece in stockinette stitch, meaning one row knit and one row purl. Repeat these two rows until you have 138 rows.

3.     Buttonholes

Depending on the width of your buttons, you will need a buttonhole size or another; in my case, I will make buttonholes 2 stitches wide. In this round, you will knit the following sequence (in knit stitches):

7 stitches - buttonhole - 14 stitches - buttonhole - 14 stitches - buttonhole - 14 stitches - buttonhole - 7 stitches.

Buttonholes are made by binding off the two stitches that make up their width.

4.     Last row

Right after the buttonholes, we will finish the main piece with a final row of purl stitches, adding the two stitches we bound off above each buttonhole.

5.     Bind off stitches

Bind off all stitches using your favorite method or as shown in the video.

6.     Finishing

Sew the buttons to the beginning of the piece and weave in ends.

7.     Blocking?

This is an optional step; you can block the piece for a more polished finish or leave it as is for a more natural result.

That's not all, you can find the step-by-step pattern on Albita de Plata's YouTube channel, click here to watch it.
