HOW TO MAKE THE BIRD & FOX NEEDLE CASE?
ABBREVIATIONS AND STITCHES USED
CH - Chain SC - Single crochet SL ST - Slip stitch
HOOK
3.00 mm
PATTERN
Piece 1 (large)
44 CH and 36 rows of 44 SC. Cut yarn and set aside the piece.
Piece 2 (small)
44 CH and 18 rows of 44 SC. Cut yarn and set aside the piece. With a tapestry needle, draw the design (fox or bird) with cross stitch on the large piece. Line the inside of piece 1 with a piece of felt measuring 24x24cm (approx) to form the flap, leaving half a centimeter of the piece's edge unlined. Make a round of SC around the entire perimeter of piece 1, using these same stitches to join piece 2 to the bottom. SL ST round at the base of the SC of the perimeter round. Make divisions in piece 2, with needle and sewing thread, of about 3cm. Crochet 2 cords of 25 CH each and a round of 25 SL ST on the chain, and join each one to the middle of the end where the case closes. With this pattern, you will make a case for 8 needles; if you want to make it for more needles, make as many starting chains as you want the case to be long (capacity).
