HOW TO MAKE THESE BABY MITTENS?
ABBREVIATIONS
-cm: centimeter -sts: stitches -rows: rows
STEP BY STEP
With yarn 009 and size 4 needles, cast on 14 sts. and work 6 rows of 1/1 rib stitch. Then change to size 5 needles and garter stitch and work 12 rows. Change to yarn 501 and work 8 rows. Place 3 sts. on a safety pin and continue with the remaining sts., working 2 rows in color 003. Continue with color 501, after 12 rows decrease 1 st. on each side, and on the next row, decrease 2 sts. together on both sides. Finally, bind off the remaining sts. Pick up the 3 separated sts., increase 1 st., and work 2 rows in color 003, then 12 rows in color 501. Bind off the 4 sts.
FINISHING
Make 4 identical pieces, taking into account where the separated thumb goes. 2 pieces have it on one side and the other 2 on the opposite side. Sew them together in pairs inside out, then turn them right side out. Add the pom-pom and a 90cm long cord and sew to the mittens.
