Do you like wool accessories and the handmade world? Today we are going to tell you how to make a lace stitch handkerchief for the little one in the house.

YOU WILL NEED:

 For an 8 to 10 year old size:

• Caricia Classic COL nº069 yarn, 1 ball
• 2 1/2 mm knitting needles
• Size 3 crochet hook

STITCHES USED:

• Knit stitch (see tutorial knit stitch)
• Single crochet (see tutorial single crochet)
• Double crochet (see tutorial double crochet)
• Chain stitch (see tutorial chain stitch)
• Lace stitch (see more details in the photo and below in the instructions)

HOW TO MAKE THE LACE STITCH HANDKERCHIEF?

With Caricia Classic COL nº069 yarn and knitting needles, cast on 5 sts. and work 3 rows in stockinette stitch. In the next row, make the first bobble:

*k2 sts, yarn over, and work the next 2 sts together knitwise, k the remaining two sts.

To create the lace stitch, repeat this sequence every 5 sts on the right side of the work, every 3 rows.

Purl rows are worked in purl stitch (see tutorial purl stitch)

In the first 7 cm from the beginning of the work (20 rows), increase 1 st on both sides of every right-side row.

From there until the end of the work (21 cm), increase 1 st on each side of every row.

Bind off.

CONSTRUCTION AND FINISHING

With the crochet hook, work 1 row of single crochet around the entire handkerchief.

To make the edging, work 2 more rows, which are worked only along the two sides that form the point:

1st row: *1 sc, 1 ch, 1 sc*, repeat to the end. 2nd row: *3 ch, 1 sc, inserting the hook into the sc of the previous row.

Cord (make 2)

Chain 45 and work 1 row of single crochet. Sew the two cords to both ends of the handkerchief.
