HOW TO MAKE THE DUNGAREE WITH POCKETS?
For a 2-year-old size
Back
With Caricia Clasica Merino yarn, cast on 65 sts. Knit 2 cm of elastic stitch and increase 15 sts evenly. Start stripes in stockinette stitch. At 20 cm, close the 4 central sts and work one side, then the other. From the 4 closed sts, work 23 cm, decrease 14 sts evenly, and with the remaining sts, knit 2 cm of elastic stitch. Then close all sts. With the other sts we left, do the same.
Front
Start with the bib. Cast on 30 sts, the first 6 rows are worked in garter stitch. Then, start with stripes in garter stitch. Then, start with stripes in stockinette stitch. At 11 cm, from the sides, pick up the necessary sts to make 6 rows of garter stitch and match the top of the bib. Now increase 26 sts at once on each side. These sides will be worked in elastic stitch and the bib part will continue with stripes. When we have 6 rows of elastic stitch, close the first 8 sts and the last ones, making a buttonhole to fasten to the back later. With the remaining sts, start the stripes and make the same measurements as the back and the same decreases at the end. We will need to make a small pocket of 6x8 cm for the bib and two larger pockets of 8x12 cm for the sides of the pants. The straps are 3cm x 30cm long. Finally, sew the side seams, iron, and sew the pockets, leg seams, and straps.
