
Back to School Pouch
For this project, we have chosen Caricia Frescor yarn. It is light, soft, and fluffy, and its colors are inspired by autumnal tones with a slight powdery touch, the latest trend for the upcoming season.
YOU WILL NEED:

- Caricia Frescor Yarn COL Nº 728, Nº 764, Nº 736 and Nº 1001 (1 ball of each color).
- Caricia perlé zeppelin cotton Nº 5, COL Nº 102. (1 ball)
- Crochet hook size 3.
- Tapestry needle.
- 1 pink zipper, 24 cm long.
STITCHES USED

- Single crochet: sc. (see tutorial single crochet)
- Slip stitch.
- Chain stitch.
- Striped stitch (in sc.):
To be worked as follows: 2 rows with COL Nº 728, 2 rows with COL Nº 736, 2 rows with COL Nº 764, and 2 rows with COL Nº 1001. Repeat this sequence until the indicated number of rows is completed.
HOW TO MAKE THE POUCH?
Side circles (make 2)
Using gray color Nª 1001, start working as follows: 1st row. Begin by crocheting a magic ring with 6 single crochets. 2nd row. *Work 2 sc in each stitch*, repeat until the end of the row. 3rd row. *Work 1 sc and make 2 sc in the next stitch*, repeat until the end of the row. 4th row. *Work 2 sc and 2 sc in the next stitch*, repeat until the end of the row. 5th row. *Work 3 sc and make 2 sc in the next stitch*, repeat until the end of the row. 6th row. *Work 4 sc and 2 sc in the next stitch*, repeat until the end of the row. 7th row. *Work 5 sc, 2 sc in the next stitch*, repeat until the end of the row. 8th row. *Work 6 sc, 2 sc in the next stitch*, repeat. 9th row. *Work 7 sc, 2 sc in the next stitch*, repeat. 10th row. *Work 8 sc, 2 sc in the next stitch*, repeat. 11th row. *Work 9 sc, 2 sc in the next stitch*, repeat. 12th row. *Work 10 sc, 2 sc in the next stitch*, repeat. 13th row. *Work 11 sc, 2 sc in the next stitch*, repeat. 14th row. *Work 12 sc, 2 sc in the next stitch*, repeat. 15th row. *Work 13 sc, 2 sc in the next stitch*, repeat. 16th row. *Work 14 sc, 2 sc in the next stitch*, repeat. Close and leave a tail for sewing.
Pouch
Chain 58 and work 86 rows in striped stitch. Close.
Heart
With pink yarn No. 736, crochet as follows:
1st row: make a magic circle of 6 sc. Join with 1 slip stitch.
2nd row: *2 sc in each st.*, repeat from * to *.
Rows 3, 4, and 5 are worked without increases. Make two units to obtain two semicircles.
6th row: join both semicircles by working 4 central sc and continue separately, bordering the two spherical shapes until completely joined.
7th, 8th and 9th row, decrease every 3 stitches by 1 stitch, until the row is complete.
10th row, decrease 1 stitch every 2 stitches until the row is complete.
11th row, * close 1 stitch, work 1 sc.*, repeat until the end of the row. Stuff with wadding.
12th row: close all remaining stitches with slip stitches. With pink yarn No. 736, make 20 chains. Close and sew to the heart in the center of its upper part, leaving a 5 cm tail to attach to the zipper.
Handle
For the handle, with gray yarn, chain 100 stitches and work 7 rows in single crochet. Close and leave a tail for sewing.
ASSEMBLY AND FINISHING
First baste and then sew both sides to the rectangle with a tapestry needle and thread. Turn the bag inside out and sew the zipper to the inside of the work. Sew the handle to both sides. With yellow cotton thread COL Nº 102, backstitch over the gray knitted stripes. Hook and knot the heart to the zipper.
