STEP BY STEP

Base:
*All single crochets in the base will be crocheted by inserting the hook exactly in the middle of the single crochet of the previous round. Instead of in the top, as we usually do, we will crochet it in the middle of the previous single crochet. This is a way to give consistency to the fabric. We make a simple base circle, following these rounds:

Body:
*The first round of single crochet will be done by taking only the back loop of the single crochet from the previous round. The rest of the rounds will be crocheted by taking only the front loop of the previous single crochet, so that the single crochets are placed directly one above the other and the pattern is more uniform. All rounds will be made in single crochet without increases or decreases, just following the pattern in the following chart, using the tapestry technique. Each round has a total of 84 stitches and there are a total of 19 rounds. In my case, the white squares were crocheted in black and the squares with black dots were crocheted in gray. You can use any color combination you like. The last round is entirely in black single crochet. I close each round with a slip stitch and begin it with a chain stitch.
Lid (optional):
We will follow exactly the same pattern as the base, but we will add 3 more rounds of single crochet after completing round 15 (sl st). We can make a handle by chaining 25ch and then working 25sl st back along the chain. Insert the beginning and end of this chain through the magic ring of the lid and tie a knot on the inside.
