GAUGE
In stockinette stitch with 5.5 mm knitting needles: 10x10 cm = 18 sts x 22 rows.
HOW TO MAKE THE VEST?
With Caricia Terra yarn COLOR N° 002 and knitting needles, cast on 48 sts. Then work 6 rows in rib stitch. In the next row, increase 15 sts evenly along the entire row and begin the distribution for making the cables.
Cables

On the right side of the garment, work 11 sts in stockinette stitch, 2 sts purl, 8 sts knit, 2 sts purl, 17 sts knit, 2 sts purl, 8 sts knit, 2 sts purl, and the last 11 sts in stockinette stitch.
The next row (wrong side) is worked entirely in purl except for the 4 groups of 2 sts, which will be worked in stockinette stitch.
After 4 rows, we will begin with the first stitch crossing to make the cable. From now on, it will be done every 8 rows.
The crossing will be done as follows:
In the two groups of 8 sts, place the first 4 sts on the cable needle and knit the next 4 sts. Then knit the first 4 sts that were held on the cable needle so they cross.
Armhole

At 22 cm, we will make the armhole. First, decrease 3 sts on both sides. In the next row, decrease 2 sts on both sides, and in the third row, decrease 1 st on each side.
V-neckline

At 28 cm from the beginning, start the V-neck by closing 1 st in the center and separating the two parts. Reserve one part on a stitch holder and continue with the other part.
The neckline is worked by decreasing 1 st on each right-side row for a total of 8 sts. At 17 cm from the armhole, reach the shoulder by decreasing 3 sts in the cable. Reserve it to continue with the other side, where we will follow the same steps in reverse.
When both shoulders are equal, join them by casting on 17 sts to make the neck. Follow the same number of rows as the front to reach the armhole, which we will create by increasing first 3 sts and then 2 sts.
Back

The front and back will be worked continuously without shoulder seams. The back is worked entirely in stockinette stitch.
When reaching the bottom with the same number of rows as the front, decrease 8 sts distributed evenly along the entire row and work the next 6 rows in rib stitch.
Since there are no shoulder seams, pick up 70 sts around the entire armhole and work 4 rows in rib stitch.
Since the neckline is closed, we will work it in two parts (one seam at the point and another at the back). Each side with 34 sts will have 4 rows of rib stitch.
FINISHING AND ASSEMBLY
Sew the two sides and the two small seams of the neck. Weave in ends.
FINISHED PRODUCT

We have combined the boy's cable knit vest with jeans and a striped shirt, but its color and texture will allow you to create very different looks. We hope you liked it!
