Cardigan and booties set

We know you love baby knits, and this winter Caricia Pretty Bebé has been a huge hit. That's why we've decided to make a newborn set that will only require one ball of this beautiful yarn.

Garter st: garter stitch. Stockinette st: stockinette stitch. Inc.: increase. R.: row / Rs.: rows. St.: stitch / Sts.: stitches.

HOW TO MAKE THE CARDIGAN AND BOOTEES SET?

CARDIGAN

NOTE: the cardigan is worked in a single piece (without shoulder seams).

Front, back, and sleeves

Work with Caricia Pretty Bebé and knitting needles size 3. -R.1-4: cast on 42 sts. and work in garter st. -R.5-37: work in stockinette st. -R.38: inc. 28 sts. on each side (total 98 sts.). -R.39-42: work in stockinette st and continue with the beginning of the sleeves except for the first 4 sts. and the last 4 sts. which will be in garter st (cuff).

Front, back, and right sleeve

-R.43: then, the work is divided into two parts, one half is reserved on the stitch holder, and the work continues with the other half, knitting the right sleeve up to the neck (neckline). -R.44-54: continue in stockinette st up to the cuff. To do this, work the cuff, which we continue with 4 sts. in garter st. Repeat until 10 rows of the central stitches. -R.55: in the next R. the garter sts. are increased to 12, continue with stockinette st and end with 4 garter sts (cuff). -R.56-63: repeat and bind off 8 central sts, continuing with 4 garter sts that form the edge of the neckline (shoulder), continue with stockinette st and end with 4 garter sts (cuff). -R.64-75: repeat and always ending at the cuff. -R.76-83: then, inc. 12 sts. (back neckline) and work 8 rows, with 16 garter sts, continue the sleeve in stockinette st and end the cuff with 4 garter sts. -R. 84: bind off the 28 sts. that we increased for each sleeve after working 17cm from the beginning of them. (48 rows) –R. 85-118: continue the back in stockinette st. -R.119-122: finish in garter st.

Front, back, and left sleeve

Pick up the stitches reserved on the stitch holder and knit everything the same but in reverse.

Finishing

Sew the side and sleeve seams. Place a small button on the front neckline opening (see photo) and a small loop on the other side. On the back, sew the 6 buttons approximately 3cm apart, and on the other side, there's no need to make buttonholes because the buttons, being small, will fit through the stitches.

BOOTEES

Cast on 33 sts. and work the sole in garter st. R.1: Work 16 sts., yarn over, work 1 st., yarn over and work the remaining 16 sts. R.2: work all sts. in garter st. R.3: work 16 sts., yarn over, work 3 sts., yarn over and work the remaining 16 sts. R.4: work all sts. in garter st. R.5: work 16 sts., yarn over, work 5 sts., yarn over and work the remaining 16 sts. R.6: work all sts. in garter st. R.7: work 16 sts., yarn over, work 7 sts., yarn over and work the remaining 16 sts. R.8: work all sts. in garter st. Then, work 8 rows in garter st.

Knit the instep (sc)

Work 16 side sts., continue with the 9 central sts. but pick up the last of these 9 sts. together with the first st. of the next 16 sts. of the other side. Turn. Work the 9 central sts. and pick up the last one together with the next side stitch (2nd side st.). Turn. Repeat this sequence until 8 sts. remain on each side of the 16 sts. we had at the beginning.

Knit the leg (sc)

Join the 8 sts. from one side, the 9 central sts., and the 8 sts. from the other side. Work 12 rows in garter st and bind off. "Knit another bootee the same way."
