HOW TO MAKE THE BABY SWEATER AND LEGGINGS?
Sweater
Front
With Caricia Pretty Baby yarn and size 3 knitting needles, cast on 72 sts. and work 8 rows in elastic stitch. Then, work 25 sts. in stockinette stitch, 2 sts. purl, and 22 sts. for the cable strip, 2 sts. purl, and another 25 sts. in stockinette stitch. Each cable is made by crossing 4 sts. over 4 with the help of the special cable needle. We make this cross every 8 rows. At 19 cm from the beginning, shape the armhole and raglan. First 2 sts. and then, decrease 18 sts. 1 by 1 on both sides. At 25 cm from the beginning, shape the neck. Close 28 central sts., then 2 sts. 1-1-1-1 on each side.
Back
66 sts. No cables are made, and the length, armhole, and raglan are the same as the front. The neck shape is made 4 decreases before finishing the raglan. Close 10 central sts. and then 6 sts. and 4 sts. on both sides.
Sleeve
42 sts. 8 rows in elastic stitch. Start 15 sts. in stockinette stitch, 2 sts. purl, 8 sts. for a cable strip, another 2 sts. purl, and 15 sts. in stockinette stitch. The sleeve to the armhole will measure 22 cm, and we will increase 7 sts. distributed along the sleeve. The armhole and raglan are started the same way as the front and back.
Leggings
Each leg is worked separately. Cast on 80 sts. and work 8 rows in elastic stitch. Then, 34 sts. in stockinette stitch, a cable strip, and another 34 sts. At 17 cm, close 2 sts. and 7 sts. 1 by 1 distributed along the leg (approximately every 6 rows). At 23 cm from when we closed the 2 sts., decrease 16 sts. in 1 row, leaving 46 sts., and work 8 rows in elastic stitch. After working the elastic, divide these sts. into two parts. One will be the top of the foot and the other the bottom. On the sole part, work 2 rows, and in the following rows, decrease 1 st. at the beginning of the row until a total of 4 sts. on each side. Then, work 2 rows, and then, increase 1 st. in each row until a total of 4 sts., the same as we decreased before. Work 5 cm, and to finish, first close 1 st. 2 sts. 3 sts. and 4 sts. on each side. The top of the foot is worked continuously and finished with the same decreases as the bottom part. To sew it, on the wrong side, make a seam joining the 4 increases with the 4 decreases on each side and sew it to the top. Once the crotch and feet are sewn, add a thin elastic to the waist. To sew the sweater, sew the sleeves and sides. For the raglan, sew 3 seams, and on the remaining one, make 1 elastic st. with 3 buttonholes. For the collar, pick up the necessary sts. to make the collar band.
