HOW TO MAKE THE C2C CARICIA GELATO BLANKET?
Size: 150cm x 100cm. NOTE: This blanket is made using the ‘c2c’ crochet technique. It is very simple to make and creates beautiful color change effects for multicolor yarns. If you don't know how to do this technique, check out the ‘AlbitadePlata’ YouTube channel: There is a step-by-step video tutorial explaining how to do ‘c2c’ from scratch, as we will be knitting this blanket.
We start by doing ‘c2c’ until we have a square 20 squares high by 20 squares wide. To make a square of this size (20x20) we will use one ball of Caricia Gelato (150gr) and have a little left over for the border. For this blanket, we used 6 balls to make 6 squares, but you can use as many balls as you want to make the blanket the size you desire. Once we have the complete square, we will make a single crochet border around it. We will make 6 squares in the same way. Once we have the 6 squares made, we will lay them out on a surface to see the beautiful pattern they form with their color changes. We arrange them as we like best and join them together with an invisible seam. FINISHING
Once we have the 6 squares joined (or however many squares you have decided to make), we will do the finishing touches to give our blanket a professional and unique look. We will make one round around the entire blanket using single crochet stitches and an extra half double crochet stitch in each of the 4 corners. With a pom-pom maker, we can make 4 pom-poms and attach them to the half double crochet stitch in each corner. Here is a new video on how to make the pom-poms for the blanket.
