Heart section

Start by making 116 ch (multiple of 7 + 4)
R1: 5 dc - *1 sc - 6 dc* - 1 sc - 5 dc.
HR: Leaving the main yarn (Nana) aside, take the yarn you are going to use for the hearts (Piruleta) and, joining it to the work with a slip stitch and in the opposite direction to R1, do the following: skip 5 dc and in the first sc you find, make 2 dc-1 ch-2 dc, skip 6 dc and, making 2 ch, reach the next sc, where you repeat the series 2 dc - 1 ch - 2 dc, all in the same stitch, and so, with 2 ch between each heart, you reach the last sc of the previous row. You will have 5 unworked dc at the end. Cut the yarn.
R2: Returning to the main yarn (Nana), and in the same direction as the previous row, do the following: 3 dc - *skip 2 dc - 2 ch - 1 sc in the ch in the middle of the heart - 2 ch - skip 2 dc - 2 dc* - 1 dc.
R3: 3 dc - *2 dc in the 2 ch space - 1 sc - 2 dc in the 2 ch space - 2 dc* - 1 dc.
Repeat rows C, 2, and 3 as many times as you wish; in this case, a total of 9 heart rows were made. That is, this series (HR, R3, and R3) was repeated eight more times.
Fan section
Without cutting the main yarn, start with:
R1: All sc, in this case, 116 stitches (it must be a multiple of 6+1; if the previous row is not, don't worry: make some increases or decreases in this first row to make it so). For this pattern, a decrease was made in the middle of the row to get 115 stitches (114+1).
R2: 3 dc-tog - *skip 2 st - 1 sc - skip 2 st - 5 dc-tog* - skip 2 st - 3 dc-tog.
R3: 1 sc - *skip 2 dc - 5 dc-tog in the sc of the previous row - skip 2 dc - 1 sc in the central dc of the 5 dc-tog of the previous row* - skip 2 dc - 1 sc.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until you have the desired length. In the case of the crochet baby blanket you see in the photos, they were repeated a total of 28 more times.
Edges

When the last row of the fan section of this crochet baby blanket is on the wrong side, make a row of sc going down the side, making the bottom part (starting chains) and going up the other side.
When you reach the corner before this last row of fans we made, turn the work and go back over the row of single crochets, making R3 of the fan stitch, going down the long side, the short side, going up the other long side, and now, also crocheting over the last row of the fan section.
Cut the yarn and weave in all loose ends. Done! Your baby crochet blanket is ready for you to enjoy.
Frequently asked questions about the crochet baby blanket with Caricia Piruleta and Caricia Nana
What type of yarn is best for making a crochet baby blanket?
For a crochet baby blanket, it is essential to choose a soft, warm yarn that is safe for the baby's sensitive skin. High-quality cotton, wool, or acrylic yarns are usually good options, as long as they are specifically designed for babies. In this pattern, we especially recommend using Caricia Nana, a quality that combines softness and a variety of colors ideal for children's projects.
What size should a crochet baby blanket be?
The ideal size for a baby crochet blanket can vary depending on its use. For a crib blanket, common measurements are approximately 75x90 cm, while a stroller blanket can be smaller, around 60x80 cm. These dimensions allow the baby to be comfortable and wrapped without the blanket being too large or difficult to manage.
How to care for and wash a crochet baby blanket to make it last longer?
To preserve the softness and quality of the crochet baby blanket, it is recommended to hand wash it with cold water and a mild detergent. Avoid using bleach and other harsh products that can damage the fibers. After washing, it is ideal to let it air dry, preferably on a flat surface to maintain its original shape.
