HOW TO MAKE THE BABY SLEEPING BAG-BODY?
Back part
Cast on 72 stitches and knit 7 cm (approx. 15 rounds). Bind off 22 stitches on both sides. Continue with the remaining 28 stitches in the center. At 11 cm (approx. 26 rounds), increase 8 stitches evenly in the same round. Knit 2 rounds, and from here, increase 1 stitch at the beginning of every round until you have a total of 7 stitches on each side. Then, increase 1 stitch every 2 rounds, for a total of 4 stitches on each side. Continue straight for 20 cm, then decrease 1 stitch at the beginning of every round, for a total of 9 stitches on each side. Finally, decrease 2 stitches at the beginning of every round 6 times, which is 12 stitches on each side. Then, bind off all remaining stitches.
Front part
From the 72 stitches cast on for the back, pick up 27 stitches from one end to make the sleeve. Knit 4 rounds. On the neckline side, increase 1 stitch at the beginning of every round. At 8 cm from the beginning of this sleeve part, bind off 20 stitches at once. This finishes one sleeve. On the neckline side, continue increasing 1 stitch in each round. At the same height as the back, increase 6 stitches evenly in the same round. From here, on the neckline side, increase 2 stitches in each round 6 times. From here to the end, do everything as for the back. From the other end of the back, pick up 27 stitches to make the other sleeve. Repeat everything but in reverse, only reaching the end of the neckline increases. Knit 6 more rounds and bind off all stitches.
Finishing
Before sewing the sleeves, pick up the stitches to make the cuff ribbing. For the neckline ribbing, it is done in two parts, from the center back of the neck to where the decreases end. The other side is the same but in reverse. The ribbing and the entire bag are in stockinette stitch. Before sewing all seams, we will make the "Piquitos" (little peaks) decoration that you can see in the photos. To sew all seams, it is best to do it with regular thread in the same color as the yarn. Then, all loose ends must be secured on the wrong side. Finally, make a 7 cm diameter pompom, gather the bottom of the bag slightly, and sew it on.
