HOW TO MAKE THIS TOTE BAG:

ABBREVIATIONS

- Ch: chain stitch - Sl st: slip stitch - Sc: single crochet - Dsc: deep single crochet - Inc: increase - St: stitch

PATTERN

The base of the bag will be made in Normal Single Crochet, while the side will be made in Deep Single Crochet (inserting the hook into the V formed by the single crochet of the previous row, instead of into the two upper loops of that stitch). The entire pattern is worked in the round, closing each round with a slip stitch and starting the next with 1ch (which will count as the 1st sc of the round).

BASE

Start with 16ch. Rnd 1: sc in the next 14ch (starting in the second chain from the hook). 3sc in the corner ch. Working on the opposite side of the chains: sc in the next 13ch, 2sc in the last ch and join with sl st to the 12th sc we made (32 sts). Rnd 2: 1ch, 1inc, 13sc, 3inc, 13sc, 2inc (38 sts). Rnd 3: 1ch, 1sc, 1inc, 13sc *1sc, 1inc* x3, 13sc, *1sc,1inc* x2 (44 sts). Rnd 4: 1ch, 2sc, 1inc, 13sc, *2sc, 1inc* x3, 13sc, *2sc, 2inc* x2 (50 sts). Rnd 5: 1ch, 3sc, 1inc, 13sc, *3sc, 1inc * x3, 13sc, *3sc, 1inc* x2 (56 sts). Rnd 6: 1ch, 4sc, 1inc, 13sc, *4sc, 1inc * x3, 13sc, *4sc, 1inc* x2 (62 sts).

SIDE

Rnd 7: 62sc taking only the back loop of the base stitches. Rnd 8-25: 62dsc. Rnd 26: Finish the bag with 62sl st. Sew on the handles.

FINAL FINISH
