Decorative baskets are a trend that never goes out of style, especially when it comes to adding a rustic and cozy touch to any space. Today we present an charming pattern: baskets made with Caricia Decoración, perfect for giving that country and sophisticated air to your home.

Yarn: Caricia Decoración, color 106 (4 balls in total for both baskets)

8mm hook

Natural sticks for handles (optional)

 

HOW TO CROCHET YOUR DECO BASKET

Abbreviations:

 

ch: chain

 

sl st 3rd: slip stitch through the third loop

 

sc: single crochet

 

sc3: single crochet through the third loop

 

inc: increase

 

 

Clarifications:

 

-        We will work in a spiral, meaning we will not close the rounds or chain up. Place a stitch marker in the first stitch of the round to avoid mistakes and continue crocheting in a spiral.

 

-        SC3: This is a normal single crochet, but we insert the hook through the 3rd loop of the stitch where we are going to crochet. Normally we crochet by taking the two loops of the stitch from the previous row, or the front or back loop, but if we look closely, in a single crochet stitch, there is a third loop on the inside, just after the back loop. It is a small, completely horizontal loop. This is where we will insert the hook to work this stitch.

Now it's time to add the handles. In my case, I used two 15cm pieces of strawberry tree trunk, but this is an optional step; you can leave them without handles. I tied these two sticks with a strand of material at stitches 1 and 9 (for the first) and 25 and 33 (for the second).
